Roe Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Roe collects, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have around your information.
Effective July 12, 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Roe collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use Roe's website, mobile applications, and related learning services.
By using Roe, you confirm that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. This policy should be read together with any terms of use or other agreements that apply to your use of Roe.
General Terms
In this Privacy Policy, Roe may be referred to as "Roe," "we," "our," or "us." People who use Roe may be referred to as "users," "you," or "your." The Roe website, iOS and Android applications, account features, learning tools, AI-generated study plans, uploaded materials, communications, and related services are collectively referred to as the "Roe Platform."
Information You Provide
We collect information you choose to provide to Roe. This may include your name, email address, account profile information, authentication information from Google or Apple sign-in, support messages, survey responses, onboarding answers, learning preferences, and other information you submit through Roe.
When you upload or provide learning materials, we may collect the files, text, topics, prompts, notes, and other content you submit so Roe can generate study plans, lessons, audio, quizzes, reviews, and related learning experiences.
If you purchase a paid feature or subscription, payment is typically processed by the App Store, Google Play, or another payment provider. Roe may receive limited purchase, subscription, entitlement, and transaction information needed to provide paid features, but we do not store your full credit card number.
Information We Collect Automatically
When you use the Roe Platform, we may automatically collect service use data, such as pages or screens viewed, features used, learning paths started or completed, quiz and review activity, audio playback interactions, app events, error logs, and the time and frequency of your activity.
We may collect device and technical data, such as device type, browser type, operating system, app version, language settings, IP address, identifiers, crash data, diagnostic information, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
We may use cookies, local storage, analytics tools, and similar technologies on the website and in the app to operate Roe, remember preferences, understand usage, improve performance, and measure marketing effectiveness.
How Roe Uses Information
We use information to create and maintain your account, authenticate you, provide the Roe Platform, generate personalized study plans and lessons, process uploads, sync progress, deliver audio, run reviews, preserve streaks, and provide customer support.
We use information to improve Roe, debug issues, monitor abuse, protect the security and integrity of the Roe Platform, enforce our terms, comply with legal obligations, and understand which features and learning experiences are useful.
With your consent where required, we may send transactional messages, product updates, learning reminders, push notifications, promotional communications, and other notices related to Roe. You can control push notifications through your device settings and unsubscribe from promotional email where available.
AI Processing and Learning Content
Roe uses AI systems and service providers to transform your uploaded materials, topics, prompts, and learning activity into study plans, lessons, summaries, quizzes, flashcards, reviews, audio scripts, and related outputs.
You should avoid uploading highly sensitive personal information unless it is necessary for your own learning use. AI-generated outputs may be imperfect, and you should review important educational, professional, medical, legal, financial, or safety-related information before relying on it.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who process information on our behalf, including hosting, database, storage, analytics, authentication, payment, customer support, communications, crash reporting, and AI infrastructure providers.
We may disclose information if required or permitted by law, regulation, legal process, court order, subpoena, government request, or if we believe disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect Roe, our users, the public, or the security and integrity of the Roe Platform.
We may share information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, bankruptcy, or similar business transaction, subject to appropriate protections for user information.
Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export certain personal information, object to certain processing, withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
You can request account deletion from the Roe app where available or from the delete account page on this website. Some information may be retained where necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, backups, or legitimate business records.
You can opt out of promotional communications by using the unsubscribe option where available. You can control push notifications from your mobile device settings.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to maintain safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information we process.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Roe, maintain your account, support learning history and progress, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, prevent abuse, and operate our business.
When you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify personal information associated with your account unless retention is required or permitted for the reasons described in this policy.
Children
Roe is not intended for children under the age required by applicable law to use online services without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Roe without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can take appropriate steps.
International Use
Roe may process and store information in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as Roe changes or as legal, operational, or security needs evolve. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as updating the effective date, posting notice in the Roe Platform, or sending a communication where appropriate.
Your continued use of the Roe Platform after an updated Privacy Policy takes effect means you acknowledge the updated policy. If you do not agree with an updated policy, you should stop using Roe and may request account deletion.
Contact and Account Deletion
To request deletion of your Roe account, visit the delete account page. For privacy questions, contact Roe through the support channel available in the app or on this website.
